1. Who we are & acceptance

Champs FC ("Champs FC", "we", "us") is operated by Cuyler Consulting. By creating an account or playing, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you don't agree, please don't use the service.

2. Free to play — and not a bet

Champs FC is free to play. There is no entry fee, no stake, no purchase necessary, and no way to pay us to play or to improve your chances.

We are not a bookmaker and we don't offer betting or gambling. You are not wagering anything: you make a free prediction, and prizes are provided by us or our partners regardless of how many people play. We never hold, transfer, or take a share of any player's money.

3. Eligibility

  • You must be 18 or older.
  • You must be located in a territory where taking part is lawful. It is your responsibility to comply with your local laws.
  • One account per person. Multiple or duplicate accounts may be removed.
  • Our staff, and anyone directly involved in running a pool or funding its prize, may be excluded from winning that pool.

4. Your account

You're responsible for the accuracy of your details, for keeping your password secure, and for activity on your account. Choose a display name that isn't offensive or impersonating; we may change or remove names that break this. You can edit your details or delete your account at any time from your account page.

5. The game

Gameplay, picks, rounds and survival rules are described in the Rules, which form part of these Terms. In summary: you pick one team per round, you survive if that team wins, you can't reuse a team within a pool, and the last player standing takes the prize.

Picks close at the round's first kickoff and cannot be changed afterwards. If you don't pick before picks close, we auto-pick an unused team for you. We settle rounds from official results and may correct a settlement, or adjust fixtures and rounds, to reflect official outcomes, postponements and scheduling changes.

6. Prizes

  • Pools we run. Where a pool is backed by a prize from us or our partners, the prize is described on that pool, and we're responsible for awarding it.
  • Private pools. If you create or join a private pool with friends, any forfeit, kitty or side arrangement is strictly between you and the other players in that pool. We are not a party to it. We do not hold, collect, transfer or take any share of money between players, and we don't enforce or guarantee those arrangements — anything shown in the app about them is a record for your convenience, nothing more.
  • The last player standing wins the pool. There is one winner and one prize per pool.
  • If all remaining players lose in the same round, no one goes out: that round is voided for the pool, the teams it used are returned, and those players carry over into the next round. This does not apply to the final round — with no round left to carry into, everyone who reached it is decided by the tiebreak below and exactly one winner is crowned.
  • If the final round is reached with more than one player still in contention, the winner is decided in this order: combined goal difference of the teams they picked; then the fewest auto-picks; then the earliest to join the pool; and if still level, a draw seeded from that round's scorelines, which we publish so it can be independently verified.
  • Winners are responsible for any taxes due on a prize. Prizes are non-transferable and, unless stated otherwise, have no cash alternative.
  • We may withhold or reclaim a prize where we reasonably believe these Terms were broken, and we may require reasonable proof of identity and eligibility before paying one out.

7. Fair play

No multiple accounts, bots or automation, collusion, or exploiting bugs. If a bug gives you an advantage, tell us rather than using it. We may void picks, reverse results, suspend accounts, or remove players who break fair play.

8. Suspension & termination

We may suspend or close accounts that breach these Terms or to protect the game and its players. Where it's reasonable to do so, we'll tell you why and give you a chance to respond. You may stop playing and delete your account at any time.

9. Intellectual property

The Champs FC name, branding and software are owned by us or our licensors. Fixture, team and competition data is provided by third-party sources and remains theirs. Club and competition names and badges belong to their respective owners, and their use here is descriptive — it doesn't imply any affiliation with or endorsement by them.

10. Disclaimers & liability

The service is provided "as is" and "as available". We don't guarantee uninterrupted or error-free play, or the accuracy or timeliness of third-party fixture and result data.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential loss, or for loss of profits, goodwill or data. Where liability cannot be excluded, our total liability to you is limited to the greater of the value of any prize you were entitled to and have not received, or ZAR 1,000.

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited, including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or under the Consumer Protection Act.

11. Indemnity

You agree to indemnify us against claims arising from your misuse of the service or your breach of these Terms.

12. Changes

We may update these Terms or the game. We'll post changes here and update the date above. If a change is material, we'll ask you to accept it the next time you sign in. Continued play after that means you accept the changes.

13. General

If any part of these Terms is found unenforceable, the rest stays in force. Our not enforcing a term isn't a waiver of it. You may not transfer your account or your rights under these Terms to anyone else. These Terms, the Rules and the Privacy Policy are the whole agreement between us.

14. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of South Africa, and disputes are subject to the jurisdiction of its courts. If you're a consumer elsewhere, this doesn't deprive you of the protection of mandatory laws in your country of residence.
