Game Rules
Two games, two rulebooks. Both free, both prize-backed, both one account.
One pick a round. Survive, or you're out.
Eligibility: Only registered players may take part. One entry per account. 18+.
Free to play: Champs FC is free. Pools may be backed by a prize set by the pool organiser.
Making a pick: Each round, pick one team. You can make or change your pick any time until picks close for that round. Your pick is hidden from other players until picks close.
Surviving a round: In knockout play you survive if your team advances (a win, or a win after extra time or penalties). In league and group play your team must win outright — a draw eliminates you.
Round cadence: In a tournament a round is one match-day. In a league season a round is one gameweek. Either way it opens for picks ahead of time and picks close at the first kick-off.
No team reuse: You can pick each team only once per pool. Each pool is its own game, so a team you’ve used in one pool is still available in another. Used teams are greyed out.
Team resets: A league season has more rounds than teams, so every player’s used teams clear at one announced point mid-season and the full list becomes available again. Tournaments are short enough that they never reset.
Missed pick: If you don’t pick before picks close, you’re auto-assigned an unused team so you stay in.
Postponements & cancellations: If a fixture is voided, the affected players stay in for that round rather than going out unfairly.
Winning: The last player standing wins the pool. There is one winner and one prize per pool.
Everyone out in the same round: If every remaining player loses in the same round, nobody goes out. That round is voided — the teams it used are given back to you — and the same players carry over into the next round. The game continues until one player is left. The one exception is the final round: there is no round left to carry into, so everyone who reached it goes to the tiebreak below and exactly one winner is crowned.
If the final round arrives with more than one player left: Only then is a tiebreak needed, and it runs in this order: (1) the combined goal difference of every team you picked; (2) the fewest auto-picks, so a player who made all their own picks beats one the system picked for; (3) the earliest to join the pool; and (4) if still level, a draw seeded from that round's actual scorelines — unknown to anyone in advance and published afterwards so it can be checked.
Joining a pool: Pools start at a set round. Late joiners enter cleanly at the starting round so everyone competes on equal footing.
Call the scores. Points win the season.
Eligibility: Only registered players may take part. One entry per account. 18+.
Free to play: Champs FC is free. Pools may be backed by a prize set by the pool organiser.
Making predictions: Each round has three featured matches. Predict the exact score of each before picks close at the first kick-off. You can change your predictions any time until lock; they’re hidden from other players until then.
Scoring: An exact scoreline earns 3 points. The right result (win, draw or loss) without the exact score earns 1 point. A wrong result scores 0.
Missed predictions: Any match you don’t predict is entered as 0-0 and scored like a normal prediction — so it can still earn points if the match finishes 0-0. You’re never eliminated: Predictor is a points league, so predicting every match yourself gives you the best chance, and a missed round never knocks you out.
The season table: Points add up round by round on each pool’s league table. Standings show points and exact-score count all season.
Postponements & cancellations: If a featured match is voided, it scores no points for anyone and the round settles on the remaining matches.
Winning: The highest points total after the final round wins the pool. There is one winner and one prize per pool. Ties are broken by most exact scores, then earliest to join, then — if still level — a draw seeded from that round's actual scorelines, unknown to anyone in advance and published afterwards so it can be checked.
Joining a pool: A points league stays open all season — you can join any time and score from your first round, though the earlier you start, the more rounds you can score in.
